➥ Ninja is the playable character in Ninja Must Die, and you will be using them in every battle. You can check the Ninja you obtained from the Ninja icon on the bottom left.
Fun fact: The Ninja icon and idle character in the main menu will change to your Starter Ninja.
➥ One of the main objective of Ninja Must Die is leveling and upgrading your Ninja! For one Ninja, you can upgrade 4 specific ‘items’ from the Ninja Menu.
1. Level
2. Perk
3. Talents
4. Support Skills
Level
➥ First is the Level. The maximum level for a Ninja is Level 110. You need to use Coins to level up your Ninja. No need for any other EXP materials. But remember that the Ninja’s maximum level is tied to their Talents. The default maximum level is 30. Starting there, you need to unlock various Talents until you can increase the maximum level to 40 > 50 > 60 > 70 > Awakening > 80 > 90 > 100 > 110.
➥ Obviously, the higher level you want to increase, the more Coins you need to use. So be sure to keep track of your Coins before upgrading your Ninja’s level.
Perks
➥ The second one is Perks. Perk abilities can improve Ninjas’ abilities in many ways. Certain Perk abilities even allow ninjas to obtain new special skills.
➥ Unlocking Talent requires Ninja Fragments, which can be obtained through Wish. While for wishing, you need to use the limited currency like Jade and Fate Amulet. In easier words, the Perks are quite expensive for F2P players to unlock since they either need extreme luck or lots of the limited currency to wish and get the fragments.
➥ Ninjas who have unlocked Relic Signet (The second Perk for every Ninja) can carry an additional Relic, but must be an Exclusive Relic.
Talents
➥ The third one is Talent, and this is the one that affect your Ninja’s maximum level. By unlocking Talents, your Ninja will gain more ATK, HP, HP Recovery, Score Bonus, and Ninjutsu.
➥ You can unlock each talent with a different number of Stones. There are different types of stones (Fire Stone, Lightning Stone, Water Stone, Wind Stone, and Awakening Stone) and you can farm them through:
1. Neko Shop Draw
2. Participate in the Ninja Trials
3. Weekly Special
4. Clan Shop
➥ One special mention for Awakening after Level 70 which is also essentially a Ninja’s ascension. By Awakening them, your Ninja can greatly improve their basic abilities and master Dual Wielding through Awakening, allowing them to be equipped with 2 weapons.
Support Skills
➥ The fourth and last one to upgrade is the Support Skills. Support Skill is effective for all Ninjas in the team. Attribute bonuses provided by Support Ninjas are either General Effects of Special Effects.
➥ Different Ninjas have different Support Skills, and upgrading them requires Enlightenment Books corresponding to their character. Enlightenment Books can be obtained from Talent Insight or Perk Insight (Upgrading your Ninja’s Talent or Perk).
